The hidden Dangers of the popular brand Bio Oil

Here is the truth about Bio Oil
The first ingredient in it is “Mineral Oil”, a byproduct of petroleum.  I have a book called the cosmetic ingredient glossary that defines Mineral Oil as “A heavy film forming oil and a Clear liquid mixture of hydrocarbons and a byproduct of petroleum.  It is unsuitable for lotions or shampoos as mineral oil coats our skin.  This ingredient is not designed to stay on our skin.
Mineral Oil acts as a layer that’s difficult to absorb & can clog the pores, which slows the skins’ ability to eliminate toxins.
This is such a problem, as our skin is one of our biggest eliminative organs in the body.
When our lungs, liver, kidney and our bowel are not able to keep up with their jobs dealing with those toxins and eliminating them, our body compensates and uses our skin as an eliminative organ.  Now if it is clogged up with all of this mineral oil (like what is found in the bio-oil, how is our skin supposed to do its job ?
Its almost like putting glad wrap on our skin, preventing things from penetrating through it but also prevents it from being able to breath properly.
I also read from a material safety data sheet on mineral oil which says that it is dangerous if swallowed or inhaled. Don’t we put Bio-Oil on our face ? How close is that to our mouth and our nose ? Isn’t it a risk that we may sometimes be breathing that in ?
It also says that Mineral Oil causes irritation to our skin, eyes and respiratory system. In fact it specifically talks about causing breathing problems if we breath it in…. But of course, aren’t the majority of people using this going to put this on their face !
Lets look at the 2nd ingredient listed on the Bio Oil label.  I cant pronounce it properly.   I looked it up and found that it is referred to as a ‘penetration enhancer’.   The info about this states that it alters the skins structure allowing other chemicals to penetrate deeper into our skin.

Now here is the 100% natural alternative
Organic Shea butter has been used to help heal burns, sores, scars, dermatitis, psoriasis, dandruff, eczema and stretch marks. It may also help diminish wrinkles by moisturizing the skin, promoting cell renewal, and increasing circulation. Shea butter also contains cinnamic acid, a natural protectant against harmful UV rays.

Yes! Research has found that organic Shea butter alone can do wonders for skin elasticity. The prevention of stretch marks is one of the primary reasons why many women start using Shea butter. Stretch marks usually appear when there is a rapid increase in weight, which is common during pregnancy. Some pregnant women apply organic Shea butter even before their pregnancy begins to show. This makes the skin more elastic and supple. It also helps the skin to be more accommodating to the stretching and increase in weight and bulk associated with pregnancy. Organic Shea butter promotes elasticity in our skin due to its abundance in Vitamin A. We recommend Queen Of Shea unrefined organic Shea Butter at least three times a day to help fade the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. Organic Shea butter can easily help improve the appearance of scars, discoloration and other skin disorders.
Eczema causes a painful itching that is almost impossible to ignore. Left untreated it can cause many future problems for those who suffer from it even leaving lasting scars. Many lotions only irritate eczema further, causing even more discomfort. The typical creams that are used to treat skin eczema are known as anti-inflammatory creams. While some of them are available over-the-counter, most of them can only be obtained with a doctor's prescription and they are not guaranteed to work. The downside of prescription creams is that they can be very expensive and most contain steroids. For Eczema, organic Shea butter is one of the best solutions available on the planet. organic Shea butter can reduce itching, redness and cracks associated with eczema. It can also improve your blood circulation to nourish your skin. Treating Eczema with organic Shea butter is extremely effective, thanks to the long list of vitamins and minerals contained in the oil. These elements help to give Shea butter its soothing, healing quality. Using Shea World's organic Shea butter to treat eczema will not only be effective, but it will save you money as well.
The emollient effect of Shea butter is not difficult to explain nor is it in anyway controversial, but it has been demonstrated in scientific studies. A trial of a cream containing 5% shea butter was shown to be beneficial in subjects suffering from eczema. In another study the degree of moisturisation of the skin was measured using conductivity measurements. An hour and a half after the application of raw Shea butter the measured moisturisation was 31% higher. Even 8 hours after application the skin was still reading 20% higher than at the start of the experiment.

Rozzy B Natural Life: The Benefits of Eating Raw Foods: The raw food diet is based on the belief that the most healthful food for the body is uncooked. Although most food is eaten raw, heating f...

The Benefits of Eating Raw Foods

The raw food diet is based on the belief that the most healthful food for the body is uncooked. Although most food is eaten raw, heating food is acceptable as long as the temperature stays below 104 to 118 degrees Fahrenheit (the cutoff temperature varies among those in the raw food community).
Cooking is thought to denature the enzymes naturally present in food. According to raw foodists, enyzymes are the life force of a food, helping us to digest food and absorb nutrients. If we overconsume cooked food, our bodies are forced to work harder by producing more enzymes. Over time, a lack of enzymes from food is thought to lead to digestive problems, nutrient deficiency, accelerated aging, and weight gain.

Cooking food can diminish its nutritional value. For example, the cancer-fighting compounds in broccoli, sulforaphanes, are greatly reduced when broccoli is cooked. Certain vitamins, such as vitamin C and folate, are destroyed by heat. Other foods, however, become more healthful after cooking, because the fibrous portion is broken down. For example, cooked tomatoes contain three to four times more lycopene than raw tomatoes.

Cooking also promotes the formation of potentially harmful compounds in food during high heat cooking, such as advanced glycation end products and heterocyclic amines.
There are different ways that people follow a raw food diet. Most people who follow a raw food diet are vegan. Some consume raw animal products, such as raw milk, cheese made from raw milk, sashimi, ceviche (raw fish), or carpaccio (raw meat). Some people eat only raw foods, while others include cooked food for variety and convenience. The percentage of raw food is usually 70 percent or more of the diet.

Raw food detox diets or cleanses are entering the mainstream. People typically go on a detox diet for 3 to 21 days. After the detox diet or cleanse, they may continue a raw food diet, return to their regular diet, or try to improve their daily diet by consuming more raw foods.
To find out what foods are typically eaten on a raw food diet, read the List of Foods to Eat on a Raw Food Diet.

How is Raw Food Prepared?

  • Soaking and Sprouting
Raw beans, legumes, nuts, and seeds contain enzyme inhibitors that are normally destroyed with cooking. The nutrients can be released by soaking them (germination) or sprouting them.
Germination involves soaking in water for a specific amount of time. Although the recommended germination times vary from 2 hours (for cashews) up to one day (for mung beans), some raw foodists say that soaking overnight is sufficient and more convenient. It's important to start with dried, raw, preferably organic seeds, beans, legumes, or nuts.
Rinse beans, nuts, legumes, or seeds and place in a glass container. Add room temperature purified water to cover and soak at room temperature overnight. Mung beans, however, require a full 24 hours. Rinse a couple of times prior to use.
  • Sprouting
After germination, seeds, beans, and legumes can be sprouted. After they are drained during the final step of the germination process, place them in a container for sprouting. Leave them at room temperature for the recommended time. The seed, bean, or legume will open and a sprout will grow from it. Rinse the sprouted nuts or seeds and drain well. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Dehydrating

Foods can be heated, never above 118 F, using a piece of equipment called a dehydrator to simulate sundrying. They are enclosed containers with heating elements to warm at low temperatures. A fan inside the dehydrator blows the warm air across the food, which is spread out on trays. Dehydrators can be used to make raisins, sundried tomatoes, kale chips, crackers, breads, croutons, and fruit leathers.
  • Blending

Foods can be blended or chopped using a food processor or blender, to make recipes for smoothies, pesto, soup, hummus.
  • Fermenting

  • Pickling

  • Juicing

What Equipment is Used to Prepare Raw Food?

  • Blender - to make smoothies, soup, nut milks
  • Thermometer - to ensure during heating that food stays below 118 F
  • Dehydrator - a piece of equipment that can blow air through food at low temperatures.
  • Juicer
  • Mini-blender - for chopping or grinding small amounts of food
  • Food processor
  • Spiral Slicer - cuts vegetables into spiral shapes
  • Large containers or trays to soak and sprout seeds, grains, and beans
  • Mason jars or sprouters

Besides Cooked Food, What Else Should I Avoid?

Some raw beans can be eaten after they have been soaked and sprouted, but others are considered unsafe to eat, such as kidney beans, soy beans, and fava beans. Other foods that are avoided include:
  • Buckwheat greens
  • Mushrooms
  • Peas
  • Potatoes
  • Rhubarb leaves
  • Taro
  • Cassava and cassava flour
  • Parsnips

On a raw food diet, people usually avoid food grown with pesticides or made with preservatives, additives, food color or food dye.

Benefits of the Raw Food Diet

People who follow a raw food diet believe it has numerous health benefits, including:
  • Increased energy
  • Clearer skin
  • Weight loss
  • Reduced risk of disease

The raw food diet contains fewer trans fats and saturated fat than the typical Western diet. It is also low in sodium and sugar and high in potassium, magnesium, folate, fiber, vitamin A, and health-promoting antioxidants. These properties are associated with a reduced risk of diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. For example, a study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that consumption of a raw food diet lowered plasma total cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations.

The raw food diet is also thought to have a favorable acid-alkaline balance, being low in acid-forming food. Too much acidity in the body is thought to result in disease.
Besides the immediate benefits, the raw food diet may theoretically slow the aging process and reduce inflammation, because it contains fewer advanced glycation end products and other potentially damaging compounds.

Concerns

One of the main concerns people have with the raw food diet is the risk of nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin B12, iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids. For example, one study found that people on raw food diets have higher levels of homocysteine and lower HDL cholesterol levels, due to vitamin B12 deficiency. Both are risk factors for heart disease. Supplementing with a multivitamin may help prevent nutritional deficiencies. Eating a variety of foods may also help.
People with hypoglycemia or diabetes should use caution on the raw food diet. Although the antioxidants, vegetables, and fiber can be helpful, if done improperly (overconsuming fruit juices) may worsen the condition.
People with a history of eating disorders or those who are underweight should consult their health care provider before trying the raw food diet.
According to other alternative diet theories, such as Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine, a raw food diet may not be appropriate for people living in colder climates or for people with certain constitutional types.

Side Effects of the Raw Food Diet

Some people experience a detoxification reaction when they start the raw food diet, especially if their previous diet was rich in meat, sugar, and caffeine. Mild headaches, nausea, and cravings can occur but usually last for several days.

Tips

  • Ease into the diet. Start with 50 percent raw and go from there. Don’t be focused on going 100 percent raw. Instead, find the balance that works best with your lifestyle and consider it an evolving process.

  • If you are going to try the diet, you’ll need to find recipes and make meal plans, especially as you begin. Don’t allow yourself to go hungry.

  • Make sure to eat a variety of foods.

  • I plan on going 3 to 7 days raw, and then we will go from there, I will keep you updated on the results

Top 10 harmful Chemicals in your Beauty Products

These are facts about 10 of the most unwanted ingredients that may be in your personal care and beauty aid
    products!
    1. Isopropyl Alcohol:This is a solvent and denaturant (poisonous substance that changes another substance's natural qualities). Isopropyl
alcohol is found in hair color rinses, body rubs, hand lotions, after-shave lotions, fragrances and many other
cosmetics. This petroleum-derived substance is also used in antifreeze and as a solvent in shellac. According to A
Consumers Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients, inhalation or ingestion of the vapor may cause headaches, flushing,
dizziness, mental depression, nausea, vomiting and coma.
    2. Mineral Oil:Baby oil is 100% mineral oil. This commonly used petroleum ingredient coats the skin just like plastic wrap. The skin's
natural immune barrier is disrupted as this plastic coating inhibits its ability to breathe and absorb the Natural
Moisture Factor (moisture and nutrition). The skin's ability to release toxins is impeded by this 'plastic wrap,' which
can promote acne and other disorders. This process slows down skin function and normal cell development causing
    the skin to prematurely age.
    3. PEG:This is an abbreviation for polyethylene glycol that is used in making cleansers to dissolve oil and grease as well as
thicken products. Because of their effectiveness, PEG's are often used in caustic spray-on oven cleaners and yet are
found in many personal care products. PEG's contribute to stripping the Natural Moisture Factor, leaving the immune
system vulnerable. They are also potentially carcinogenic.
    4. Propylene Glycol (PG):As a 'surfactant' or wetting agent and solvent, this ingredient is actually the active component in antifreeze. There is no
difference between the PG used in industry and the PG used in personal care products. It is used in industry to break
down protein and cellular structure (what the skin is made of) yet is found in most forms of make-up, hair products,
lotions, after-shaves, deodorants, mouthwashes and toothpastes. It is also used in food processing. Because of its
ability to quickly penetrate the skin, the EPA requires workers to wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles when
working with this toxic substance. The Material Safety Data Sheets warn against skin contact, as PG has systemic
consequences such as brain, liver and kidney abnormalities. Consumers are not protected nor is there a warning
label on products such as stick deodorants, where the concentration is greater than that in most industrial
    applications.
    5. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES):Used as detergents and surfactants, these closely related compounds are found in car wash soaps, garage floor
cleaners and engine degreasers. Yet both SLS and SLES are used more widely as one of the major ingredients in
cosmetics, toothpastes, hair conditioner and about 90% of al shampoos and products that foam. Mark Fearer in an
article, Dangerous Beauty, says "...in tests, animals that were exposed to SLS experienced eye damage, along with
depression, labored breathing, diarrhea, severe skin irritation and corrosion and death." According to the American
College of Toxicology states, "...both SLS and SLES can cause malformation in children's eyes. Other research has
indicated SLS may be damaging to the immune system, especially within the skin. Skin layers may separate and
inflame due to its protein denaturing properties. It is possibly the most dangerous of all ingredients in personal care
products. Research has shown that SLS when combined with other chemicals can be transformed into nitrosamines,
a potent class of carcinogens, which causes the body to absorb nitrates at higher levels than eating
nitrate-contaminated food." According to the American College of Toxicology report, "SLS stays in the body for up to
five days...Other studies have indicated that SLS easily penetrates through the skin and enters and maintains residual
levels in the heart, the liver, the lungs and the brain. This poses serious questions regarding its potential health threat
through its use in shampoos, cleansers and toothpaste."
    6. Chlorine:According to Doris J. Rapp, M.D., author of Is This Your Child's World? Exposure to chlorine in tap water, showers,
pool, laundry products, cleaning agents, food processing, sewage systems and many others, can effect health by
contributing to asthma, hay fever, anemia, bronchitis, circulatory collapse, confusion, delirium, diabetes, dizziness,
irritation of the eye, mouth, nose, throat, lung, skin and stomach, heart disease, high blood pressure and nausea. It is
also a possible cause of cancer. Even though you will not see Chlorine on personal care product labels, it is important
for you to be aware of the need to protect your skin when bathing and washing your hair.
    7. DEA (diethanolamine) MEA (monoethanolamine) TEA (triethanolamine):DEA and MEA are usually listed on the ingredient label in conjunction with the compound being neutralized. Thus look
for names like Cocoamide DEA or MEA, Lauramide DEA, etc. These are hormone disrupting chemicals and are
known to form cancer causing nitrates and nitrosamines. These are commonly found in most personal care products
that foam, including bubble baths, body washes, shampoos, soaps and facial cleansers. On the show CBS This
Morning, Roberta Baskin revealed that a recent government report shows DEA and MEA are readily absorbed in the
skin. Dr. Samuel Epstein, Professor of Environmental health at the University of Illinois said, "repeated skin
applications of DEA-based detergents resulted in a major increase in the incidence of two cancers- liver and kidney
cancers." John Bailey, who oversees the cosmetic division for the FDA said the new study is especially important
since "the risk equation changes significantly for children."
    8. FD&C Color Pigments:Many color pigments cause skin sensitivity and irritation. Absorption of certain colors can cause depletion of oxygen
in the body and even death according to A Consumer's Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients. Debra Lynn Dadd says in
Home Safe Home, "Colors that can be used in foods, drugs, and cosmetics are made from coal tar. There is a great
deal of controversy about their use, because animal studies have shown almost all of them to be carcinogenic."
    9. Fragrance:Fragrance is present in most deodorants, shampoos, sunscreens, skin care, body care and baby care products.
Many of the compounds in fragrances are carcinogenic or otherwise toxic. "Fragrance on a label can indicate the
presence of up to 4,000 separate ingredients. Most or all of them are synthetic. Symptoms reported to the FDA have
included headaches, dizziness, rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and allergic skin irritation.
Clinical observation by medical doctors have shown that exposure to fragrances can affect the central nervous
system, causing depression, hyperactivity, irritability, inability to cope, and other behavioral changes.' Home Safe
    Home'.
    10. Imidazolidinyl Urea and DMDM Hydantoin:These are two of the many preservatives that release formaldehyde (formaldehyde-donors). According to the Mayo
Clinic, formaldehyde can irritate the respiratory system, cause skin reactions and trigger heart palpitations. Exposure
to formaldehyde may cause joint pain, allergies, depression, headaches, chest pains, ear infections, chronic fatigue,
dizziness and loss of sleep. It can also aggravate coughs and colds and trigger asthma. Serious side effects include
weakening of the immune system and cancer. Nearly all brands of skin, body and hair care, antiperspirants and nail
polish found in stores contain formaldehyde-releasing ingredients

To AVOID all these harmful toxic ingredients simply use all natural produts for hair and skin, like Black Soap, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, etc

7 Foods to Avoid for Rapid Weight Loss

Based on her presentation The Five Essential Elements to Achieve Lasting Weight Loss on January 21, 2012, JJ Virgin, one of the nation's foremost fitness and nutrition experts, recommends avoiding the following 7 foods for rapid weight loss.

    1. Soy
    2. Corn
    3. Gluten
    4. Dairy
    5. Sugar and artificial sweeteners
    6. Eggs
    7. Peanuts

    Dr. Cherniawski's comments:

    1. Soy
    1. - Most is genetically modified (GM). Our bodies are not designed to process GM foods. Therefore, ALL GM foods should be avoided. In addition, soy has very high levels of estrogen-like compounds that interfere with our natural hormonal balance.
    2. Corn
    3. - Most is genetically modified, like soy, and should be avoided. It is a grain found in most processed foods that converts to sugar in the body and contributes to chronic illness such as Type II Diabetes.
    4. Gluten
    5. - Found in grains, especially wheat. It makes grain products "sticky." It interferes with digestion, especially in Celiac patients who are highly sensitive and contributes to "leaky gut" syndrome. It also increases inflammation in the body due to its omega-6 content.
    6. Dairy
    7. - Name an animal that drinks milk after it has been weaned from its mother. Name an animal that drinks the milk of another animal. From this perspective, dairy is very unnatural to our diet. Commercial dairy is especially harmful because of its pharmaceutical content and because homogenization and pasteurization destroy much of its nutrition, including its natural enzymes.
    8. Sugar and artificial sweeteners
    9. - The average American consumes more sugar in one day than our early ancestors did in an entire year. Sugar leads to increased insulin production, insulin resistance, and Type II Diabetes. Artificial sweeteners are man made and our bodies are not designed to process them. They are neurotoxic and contribute to a wide variety of health problems.
    10. Eggs
    11. - Many people are sensitive or allergic to eggs. Follow the elimination guidelines below.
    12. Peanuts
    13. - Many people are sensitive or allergic to peanuts. Follow the elimination guidelines below.

    What to do:

Eliminate these items from your diet for 3 weeks and watch the weight melt off, perhaps one pound per day or more. Then, add back one of these foods at a time and notice your body's reaction. If you develop any symptom - headache, fatigue, digestive upset, congestion, mood changes, or others - you'll know you are sensitive and should continue avoiding such food. Even if you are not sensitive, items 1-5 should always be kept to a minimum in a healthy diet.

    What to eat instead:

Concentrate your diet on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean cuts of meat, and filtered water.

Instead of consuming soy from tofu and processed food, eat small amounts of organic, fermented soy a few times a week - but only if you have no thyroid or estrogen related health problems.

Replace corn oil with palm fruit oil, coconut oil, sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). Replace corn meal with fresh-ground flaxseed meal.

Instead of consuming gluten, replace wheat pasta with rice pasta, quinoa pasta, or spaghetti squash. Eat brown rice wraps or romaine lettuce wraps instead of tortillas. Use almond or coconut flour instead of wheat or rye flour. Substitute a slice of eggplant or portobello mushroom for pizza crust.

Instead of dairy, use ghee (clarified butter) from grass-fed cows in place of butter. Drink coconut or almond milk instead of cow's milk. Replace other dairy products with coconut creamer, coconut yogurt, and raw and fermented kefir or yogurt from goat or sheep's milk.

Replace sugar with xylitol or stevia or a mix of the two.

Eggs may be ok but only if they are organic, free range, and raised with feed void of corn or soy.

Replace peanuts with tree nuts such as brazil nuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, almonds, or cashews. Replace peanut butter with cashew, almond, macadamia, or pecan butter.

I am not a big fan of artificial sweetners, and I avoid sugar altogether

Black Soap, How it is made and the Benefits Verse Commercial bar Soaps

Black soap is also a natural source of vitamins A & E and iron. This helps to strengthen the skin and hair.

    - Black soap contains a high amount of glycerin, which absorbs moisture from the air and literally deposits it into the skin, making the skin soft and supple.

    - For centuries, Ghanaians and Nigerians have used black soap to help relieve acne, oily skin, clear blemishes and various other skin issues. Many swear by it for skin irritations and conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

    - Women in Africa will use black soap during pregnancy and afterwards to keep them from getting stretch marks and to protect them from dry skin that is often accompanied by pregnancy.

    - Black soap can also be used as a hair shampoo. The shea butter in the soap softens the hair, while the vitamins give it strength.

    - Men can use black soap in shaving. The high shea butter content leaves the skin smooth and protected.

    - African black soap is unique in that it contains no preservatives, color enhancers, or fragrances. African black soap creates a soft lather without the animal fat additives that are commonly used in soaps made in the US .
    How Black Soap is Made:

1 - First, leaves and bark of various trees and plants are burned in a vat or kettle. These may be leaves from banana trees, plantain skins, palm tree leaves, shea tree bark, and/or cocoa pods.

2 - Secondly, water is added to ashes to be filtered. Oils such as coconut oil, shea oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa butter are added to the water to create the soap.

3 - The soap is then hand-stirred by local women for at least a day and then set out to cure for two weeks.

People have tried to re-create African black soap in the west, but it has never been able to truly replicate the authentic product. This is because genuine black soap is created using age-old traditions that are passed down from one generation to the next in smaller villages in Africa .

Not all Black Soaps are Created Equal

As the popularity of black soap and natural soaps increases, some retailers are using the label African black soap. Many are just dyeing soap black, but using none of the key ingredients of true black soap. However, true black soap is from West Africa . Genuine black soap has raw ingredients that give it an earthy smell, and a more delicate texture than typical storebought soaps.

    In Conclusion..

If you are starting to feel differently about the softly scented white ‘cleansing bar’ you have next to your bathroom sink, don’t despair. Natural soaps are becoming more and more widely available and many can repair the damage your skin has experienced over the years.

If you try black soap, don’t be surprised; that muddy-looking water lathering on your face is literally cleaning all the impurities out of your skin from the inside out. The cocoa pod powder gives the soap a black color and hence it will create a ‘muddy’ looking lather when you use i

Why I Will Never Eat Canned Tomatoes Again

Here is some facts about canned tomatoes, and why I will NEVER eat canned tomatoes again
Fredrick Vom Saal, PhD, an endocrinologist at the University of Missouri who studies bisphenol-A, gives us the scoop:
The problem: The resin linings of tin cans contain bisphenol-A, a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to ailments ranging from reproductive problems to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Unfortunately, acidity (a prominent characteristic of tomatoes) causes BPA to leach into your food. Studies show that the BPA in most people's body exceeds the amount that suppresses sperm production or causes chromosomal damage to the eggs of animals. "You can get 50 mcg of BPA per liter out of a tomato can, and that's a level that is going to impact people, particularly the young," says vom Saal. "I won't go near canned tomatoes."
The solution: Choose tomatoes in glass bottles (which do not need resin linings), such as the brands Bionaturae and Coluccio. You can also get several types in Tetra Pak boxes, like Trader Joe's and Pomi.
Budget tip: If your recipe allows, substitute bottled pasta sauce for canned tomatoes. Look for pasta sauces with low sodium and few added ingredients, or you may have to adjust the recipe.

What is the difference between white and yellow shea butter?

There are many variables that determine whether shea butter is white or yellow. It can be the season in which the shea nuts are picked or the fatty acid in the shea nut itself. The general conclusion is that the color of shea butter is most determined by how it is extracted from the shea nut. If it is boiled or mixed for a longer period of time it normally has a lighter color. If it is mixed or boiled for a shorter period of time it normally has a greener or more yellow color.

Either way there's absolutely no difference in the quality of the shea butter. Some prefer a darker or lighter color because of habit, but the general consensus is that it makes no difference in the use or quality.

    Male Skin Care
Shea Butter is especially great for shaving. On sensitive facial skin, using it for shaving is a wonder lotion. It allows the razor to glide smoothly across the facial skin and still allows for a close shave. It also helps prevent razor burn and those little red bumps that shaving can often leave behind. While it is helping men shave, it is also benefiting their skin through some amazing healing properties. Start by using your normal warm water to open your pores and soften the hairs on your face. Then, smooth a generous amount of it on your face. Shave the way you usually shave, and rinse. Use a towel to wipe away the excess Shea Butter. You will notice smoother, softer skin, and easier shaving.

    Protective
It is great for protecting the skin against irritations. For men who work outdoors, or who are athletic, it can be great. Men who experience heat rashes, bumps, or irritation can smooth it on before their workday or sports. Then after your daily shower, you can re-apply. This will help the skin be protected from the usual irritants that can happen, especially for hot weather.

    First Aid

One of the things that it is great for is minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. It has healing properties that can help things like this. If you have a minor sunburn, scrape or something else that doesn't require a doctor's attention, smoothing on Shea Butter can help it heal more quickly and can also minimize the appearance of scars.

5 ingredients in bread you should know about

    1. Partially hydrogenated oils – yes, the evil trans-fat lurk in the bread aisle too. Make sure they don’t make the jump to your shopping cart.
    2. Potassium bromate – used as a dough conditioner. (Reminder: dough conditioners  (1) shorten dough rising times (2) increase shelf life, and (3) make the dough easier for their machinery to process). Potassium bromate is harmful in its raw form, but disappears during the baking process. Unless some of it doesn’t. Europe, Canada, and many other countries have banned the use of this additive.
    3. Azodicarbonamide – a popular dough conditioner. As a side benefit, it also bleaches the flour (makes it whiter). It’s considered safe in the US at up to 45 parts per million, but is banned from use in Europe because studies showed it could cause asthma or allergic reactions.
    4. DATEM – an acronym for Diacetyl Tartaric Acid Esters of Monoglycerides. Another dough conditioner used to improve volume and uniformity. It is considered safe by the FDA, but a study in 2002, on rats, showed “heart muscle fibrosis and adrenal overgrowth”.
    5. Artificial colors – you’d be surprised but some breads include artificial colors.

Water Have ingredients, Really Read more about the healthy not so healthy bottled water

There are 4 ingredients in Dasani bottled water:
water, magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, salt

Water is a molecule which consists of 2 hydrogen atoms bonded to and atom
    of oxygen.
Your body is over 2/3rds water.
    So is the Earth.

Magnesium sulfates are more commonly called Epsom salts.
They can be ingested, but they are a laxative, among other uses.

Salt is salt. I'd go deeper into it, but you get the idea.

If you will notice the 3rd ingredient is potassium chloride.

    Image:Potassium chloride.jpg

Any idea what Potassium chloride is? You
do if you've ever been executed
    by lethal injection.

Lethal injection has 3 steps: first, Sodium thiopental: to render the
"offender" unconscious; second, Pancuronium / Tubocurarine: to stop all
muscle movement except the heart. This causes muscle paralysis, collapse
of the diaphragm, and would eventually cause death by asphyxiation. Last:
Potassium chloride: to stop the heart from beating, and thus cause death.

That's right kids. Dasani water contains an ingredient that has stopped
many hearts from beating. Yet it is in Dasani water, which is produced by
    the Coca Cola Bottling Company.

Coca Cola doesn't think water is good enough as it is.

So they add regular salt and epsom salt.
    ~SALT MAKES YOU THIRSTY~
    ~YOU DRINK MORE WATER WHEN YOU'RE THIRSTY~
It is 'enhanced' with these 'minerals' for a 'clean, pure taste'

Distilled water, Pure Spring water from Evian, or Figi is a few of the best
